Happy Holidays!
December 21, 2009
I haven’t updated in a while, oops! I’ve been really busy with the tail-end of wedding season and now Christmas has come out of no where! I’ve also been busy meeting with wedding clients for 2010. No time to breathe for this one over here. But it’s good to be busy, and good to know that so many people enjoy my photography work! At least work for the 9-5 job has been slowing down. Everyone is busy with Christmas! I’m looking forward to the upcoming vacation, tomorrow is my last day at work until January 4th! It’ll be nice to have a break away from the computer and spend time with family and friends. Here are some photos that I’ve taken this month of Christmas around our house!

180 Gallons

The wall fish tank is almost complete! The only thing left is to make the canopy to cover the lights at the top. Here are some photos of what things look like for now…
Frost?!
October 14, 2009
So I woke up this morning to see the ground covered in frost. And I slipped on ice in the parking lot on my way into work. I didn’t fall at least! But it made me think, “What the hell?!” It seems way too early for me to be slipping on ice!! Ah, Canada. I have no idea why I live up here!! As I get older, I hate winter more and more and fantasize about living in the tropics. Winter is just too long and depressing. Especially since we’ve had literally no summer this year. We didn’t even have a very nice fall! It was too cold and rainy for the most part.
We’ve been keeping busy as usual. Ryan has put the 180 gallon fish tank into the wall downstairs!! He just has some molding on the stand to finish up and make the top canopy for the stand. I’m really anxious to have the guest room finished and the living room rearranged. The downstairs has been in disarray for too long! It will be soo nice to have it done, and it’ll look really awesome when it is. I’ll post some photos soon of all that!
I have ONE WEDDING left to shoot this weekend!!! I’m so happy I survived wedding season! It’s been quite the busy experience to say the least. But now all the tedious work must continue on editing photos and making sure I get all their packages out to them in time for Christmas. The last wedding I shot this past weekend was beautiful. I really loved working with the couple, too. I had previously shot their engagement photos and they had them playing on a slide show for the wedding reception. They even thanked me in their wedding speech and hugged me goodbye! And the bride even emailed me again the day after the wedding to say thank you again! Those little things always mean so much, and it makes me feel like I’m doing my job well. She’s already pre-booked me for her maternity photos and she’s not even pregnant yet!
Speaking of photography, I went and ordered myself the new Canon 7D. I desperately need to upgrade my camera, especially now that I’m doing weddings. I can’t wait for it to come in!! I’m sure I’ll be really annoying with it at Christmas time, bugging you to pose for portraits. hehe!
Well, I will leave you with some photos again. I took these a week or two ago. We had an amazing scene in the backyard!! It had been pouring rain, then the sun came out, but the sky was still really dark, and a rainbow appeared. It was soooo beautiful. And there are also some photos of our dying garden. Lots of tomatoes hanging around. I still have carrots in the garden, too! I picked a bunch for Canadian Thanksgiving this past weekend and I’ll probably pick the rest tonight.
Hope you’re all keeping warm!
Fall is upon us
September 28, 2009
It is officially fall and I’ve been loving the weather! Envee Photography is in full swing and I’ve been out shooting lots of weddings and a handful of other shoots. The last wedding I shot was this past Saturday in Nackawic, home of the world’s largest axe. And I must say, it’s quite large. I had never been to Nackwic and it’s BEAUTIFUL! It’s such a cozy small town right beside the river, and with all the leaves turning it was just gorgeous. I couldn’t have asked for better weather on Saturday, either. It was a perfect day for a wedding. I’m anxious to redesign my website so I can update all of the photos I’ve taken in the last few months. That will probably only happen in the winter when I have more spare time to work on it.
It’s another Monday, and it’s rainy. I had a really hard time getting out of bed this morning. It was dark and I just wanted to lay there and listen to the rain. But here I am, sitting at my desk at work, battling the never-ending eye twitch!!! Can you believe that my lower right eyelid has been twitching for about a month now? AND! My UPPER right eyelid twitched a few times earlier this morning. AND!!! My LEFT EYE twitched over the weekend. It’s starting to be really funny to me, but maybe I should be concerned? haha. It’s starting to drive me insane! Actually, it started to drive me insane during the second week. I’m to the point now where I might have to be committed over this. Even Ryan sees the twitch when I make eye contact to talk to him!! I’m getting a complex and don’t want to look anyone in the eye, they might think I’m winking at them.
Hope you all had a great weekend! Here are a few photos I snapped yesterday while waiting for some clients to show up for a photography shoot.
Maine, Camping, Pauly Shore, Oh My!
September 9, 2009
Since my last update I’ve been really busy and on the go. Two weekends ago I went back home to Maine to visit family and got to see my Uncle Andrew for the first time in 2 years! It’s always nice and relaxing when I get to go home, mainly because I don’t do any work! I never bring my laptop with me and rarely even go online to check email at my parents. It’s always a nice break from computer life when I head home.
This past weekend we went camping in Fundy. The weather was absolutely perfect! There were 10 of us at one point and it was lots of fun to get some fresh air and sit around the fire at night. We went hiking on the Moosehorn Trail, which was a bit more difficult than I had expected and resulted in 4 blisters. My only concern was having to be on my feet for 9 hours the day after to shoot a wedding! But I slapped some band-aids on and was good to go. Our neighbor at the campground provided us with some entertainment. He had a nice long grey ponytail, and wore nothing but a black speedo the whole time! And yes, he was french.
We sped home Sunday morning so I could be at the church to shoot a wedding that afternoon. I got home at 10:30pm and was completely exhausted. But I’ve made it halfway through wedding season!
On a more somber note, THE DEER ATE ALL OUR CORN!!! Ryan checked the garden the morning we left for camping and all of the corn was gone. The deer trampled all the stalks and managed to flatten some of our tomato cages, too. Jerks! They didn’t even leave us one measly ear of corn to sample.
And finally, last night Ryan and I went to see Pauly Shore do stand-up at the Fredericton Playhouse. He was HILARIOUS and totally exceeded my expectations. You may remember him from the early 90s, he had a show on MTV called Totally Pauly and acted in Encino Man, The Son-in-Law, Bio-Dome, Jury Duty… There were three comics and all three of them were really funny. We literally laughed for the entire 2 hour show and my sides are actually sore today! I totally needed the laughs too so I’m really glad we went.
I will now leave you with some photos from our camping trip, enjoy!

Weekend!
August 28, 2009
Thank god the weekend is only 1.5 hours away. My Friday was a Monday kind of day.
Heading to Maine tonight! I have tons of work I should be doing but I have an uncle coming up to visit from Arizona and I haven’t seen him since the wedding two years ago! I plan on drinking once I get to Maine so it can help me unwind from the crazy week I had. Maybe I’ll down a few before we leave, too. hah! Can’t wait to give mom her birthday gifts, too! We’re bringing a slew of veggies from the garden for everyone. My uncle specifically requested that I bring some carrots! I picked a bunch from the garden last night and they’re a really nice size. We’re overloaded with cucumbers and tomatoes too so I’ll be passing those around the family.
Have a good weekend everyone! Here are some photos of the said carrots that will be taking the trip home with me, and some photos I took in O’Dell park yesterday while waiting for my engagement session to arrive.

Relaxing Weekend
August 24, 2009
Not too much to report this weekend. I had to cancel two photo shoots today due to rain this morning. I managed to get lots of housework done, baked blueberry struesel muffins and have been editing wedding photos for the majority of the evening! Which, I should get back to right now. I’m actually a little bit anxious for winter so that work can slow down a bit!
St. Andrews
August 19, 2009
I had my first St. Andrews experience this past weekend. Let me start off by saying it was BEAUTIFUL there. I kept forgetting I was in Canada and thinking I was in Maine.
However…
It would have been much more enjoyable had it not been 100F. It was really that hot, and really humid. Did I mention I had to photograph a wedding in that heat, too? I was hoping it wouldn’t rain, and it didn’t! But I was still drenched… with sweat. I felt really bad for the groom and the groomsmen. They were all in black tuxes – shirts/vests/ties, the whole spiel. I have a lot of sweat dribbles to photoshop out of pictures.
Ryan came with me and we were able to enjoy some ocean time on Friday when we got there. We walked around and played with dead jellyfish and dead crabs. That’s my kind of afternoon! We stayed at the Algonquin (just for one night instead of the planned 2) where we nearly perished from the heat. I didn’t get any sleep on Friday night due to the heat and AC-less room we were in. Needless to say I was pretty tired come Saturday when I had to shoot. We left at 9:30pm and got home at 11:00 and I made a beeline for the shower then crawled into bed.

The Garden Works!
August 18, 2009
Ryan and I have been successful at growing food! With all the rain we got this summer, I really didn’t think anything would grow. But apparently the kind of soil we have (more clay-like) LOVES lots of water. Good to know, if we have a dry summer next year we’ll know to hose the garden to death. Mom and dad provided lots of help and drove us in the right direction in getting it started. Here are some fruits of our labor:
- all eaten!
- still on the vine right before they were picked
- the first five we picked
- baby green pepper!
- corn in the sun
- the grand zucchini
Hello Family and Friends!
August 18, 2009
I’ve decided to start a blog for family and friends to make it easier for everyone to see what’s going on with Ryan and I. Usually I’ll send email updates with photos but I figured I might as well get “in” with the times and create a blog. Just bookmark this site and keep checking for updates!
